Bob Grantham, Tournament Professional, says, “I use mainly Jenko Soft Plastics.
They have a great color selection and hold up
well. In late winter and early spring, I will use
1/32 or 1/16 oz jig heads, and little to no ac-
tion because fish seem to want it sitting in their
face. As it heats up, I will go up in jig profile
as most of the shad has gotten bigger by now.
I like the Fringe Fry and the Mermaid; the line
size of choice is braided line 20 lb high vis yel-
low. I never worry about a fish breaking my
line, and the sensitivity of it is incredible. If I
had only 3 colors, it would be blue and white, chartreuse and orange, and just a
plain old silver gray.”
Tournament Pro Chad Rogers says, “Top Hat
Jigs are my favorite. I can rig the Guppy Gob-
bler multiple ways; the triangle tail can be
rigged vertically or horizontally, depending on
whether I’m swimming or dropping it. My pri-
mary style is vertical jigging or dropping down
on them. I use a 3/16 jighead that allows me
to move it without much line sweep. I use 15#
MAD Braid with a 12# Seaguar Fluorocarbon
leader. My colors of choice are Mayfly, Blue
Pearl, and Peacock. Continued......................................
