Grenada Lake has always been a special
place for us Crappie fishermen who love to
chase those really Big Slabs.
Paula and I have caught so
many three pounders there
that it doesn’t even surprise
us anymore. But what I got to
witness this last tournament
has got me completely blown
back in my seat.
We fished the whole day
within shouting distance of
the Eichwurtzles. While we
worked hard just to scrape up
four fish, we got to watch these boys put on
a clinic. I have the same technology on my
boat as they do. But we were like kindergar-
tens fishing beside someone with their Doc-
torates degree in Crappieology. Their boat

control, noise control, the deliberate way
they approached each fish all were masterly
done. But most impressive is watch-
ing Parker with that pitching rod in
his hand. His ability to hit his tar-
get at any distance in any direction
around the boat is amazing. And
his precise presentation of the bait
to each fish was perfect. Great job
Parker and family! This ole man will
try to catch up.
Next up we are headed to Okat-
ibbee Lake in Meridian, MS. This is
always a fun tournament, as every-
one usually catches plenty of fish. Bring the
wife and kids and have some fun with the
whole family.
